SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test (Oral Fluid) qualitatively detects the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigens in human oral fluid specimen following membrane-based immunoassay.
The specimen reacts with the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody-coated particles in the test line region of the test cassette during the testing. Driven by the capillary action, the mixture migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically to react with the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibody in test line region.
When the specimen contains SARS-CoV-2 antigens, a colored line will be present in the test line region. In the absence of antigens to SARS-CoV-2, there will be no colored line in the test region to indicate a negative result. A colored line will appear at the control reagent to serve as a procedure control as an indicator that the test has been performed correctly.
